Clinic Spotlight: Samaritan Depoe Bay Clinic

The Samaritan Depoe Bay Clinic was opened in 1994 as a family practice clinic under Dr. Richard Fox. Since then, there have been many changes including an expansion in 2008. Patients of all ages come from as far as Yachats and Salem to the clinic.

Full-time provider Jerry Flaming, DO, recently moved on to hospital administration after nine years at the clinic. The receptionists have worked hard to try to accommodate his patients as well as those needing same day appointments. David Allen, PA-C, has set up specific slots in his schedule for these patients in addition to his own panel of patients, hospital follow-ups, and more. Christian Latham, PA-C, travels from Washington approximately four days per month just to see our patients. Giovanni Catalano, DO, has continued to help cover patient requests and prescription refills in addition to caring for his own patients while accepting referrals for acupuncture and osteopathic manipulation.

Despite being short-staffed, the three certified medical assistants continue to work hard to provide quality customer service, assist the providers in meeting their Meaningful Use goals, and help with patient care coordination as part of a state-certified Tier 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home. They are looking forward to the latest addition, Manny Ziegler, FNP, from California, to join their team. The community is also appreciative to have access to endocrinologist, Patrick Boyle, MD.
