Provider News Getting the Most Out of the Authorization Wizard

It’s been almost a year since we introduced the Authorization Request Wizard, available at Provider Connect, and while most users are now comfortable using this tool, there are some common issues we continue to see. Below, you’ll find tips and reminders for working through them. 

Using the search function to find a provider

For the best search results, enter the first few letters of the provider’s name, click “Search” and let the system search for you.

If the provider you are searching for is not found in the system you can have them added by calling our Authorization Request Wizard Helpline at 541-768-4409, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. When you call, please leave a detailed message including your contact information. Please keep in mind it may take up to two business days for your call to be returned or changes to be reflected in the system. 

Using the code screen

Like the search function, when entering codes you will get the best results by entering the first few characters and then letting the system search for you. 

Supporting medical record documentation

All supporting documentation must be submitted in PDF format.  If your office is unable to convert documents to PDFs or you are having difficulty with attaching a PDF, please indicate in the note field that you will fax the additional paperwork. The authorization number, which the system generates once your authorization request is complete, should be included on any faxed documents.

Text field

The text field should only be used to type in short notes, such as: “Will fax in chart notes.” Do not copy and paste chart notes or other information into this field as this may cause unexpected errors or delays in processing you request.

Editing submitted authorization requests

Changes cannot be made to an authorization request once it has been submitted.  If you need to make changes, please call our Authorization Request Wizard Helpline at 541-768-4409, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to cancel or amend your request.
